Unemployment Claims

Dealing with unemployment claims can be very time-consuming, but it is important to handle them correctly in order to keep SUTA rates low. Here's an outline of the typical process:

1. You notify us of employee termination, if we were not directly involved (see Hiring and Termination).

2. We receive an automatic notification of a claim from the state workforce commission.

3. We contact you or your representative to verify the reasons for termination.

4. Our specialists respond promptly to contest or agree with the claim. (Typically, employers have a limited time from the date of the claim to reply; if they fail to meet that deadline, the claim is automatically granted.)

5. We then handle all hearings and appeals, with the goal of clearly differentiating between deserving and undeserving claimants.

We have an excellent won/lost record, because our unemployment specialists know the ropes and because we follow proven procedures and documentation processes.
